Final Blow is piece #1 in a twelve image series that I plan on completing. The series will depict Pokemon battles in a more realistic fashion, and will be placed in chronological order for a special calendar.

Drake’s Salamence shuddered as the inflicted paralysis racked it’s body with halting pain. It gazed up at it’s foe; a well-taught Pelliper named ‘Beak’ by it’s trainer. Before the cobalt dragon could make a move at the great bird, it parted it’s beak wide and a thick torrent of water blasted the Salamence with ferocity. While making it’s turnabout, Drake’s Pokemon lashed out with it’s heavy talons and struck solid flesh and feather, sending the white and blue Pelliper tumbling across the dark stage. Beak managed to take flight again, it’s wings unimpaired. At it’s trainer’s command, it emitted a warbling screech at the lurching drake; with luck, buying some time to lay the next attack. The Salamence buckled under another wave of paralysis, barely managing to hoist it’s heavy, spiked head to glare at the airborne enemy. Beak poised itself a fair distance away from the stocky dragon and huffed in a deep breath, the air beginning to chill. It opened it’s deep beak wide, a gleaming orb of freezing energy and water particles gathering.
Drake’s Salamence watched as the orb grew and grew, wispy tendrils of energy massing and writhing, a bone-touching wind beginning to stir....

This piece took a lot of effort, probably not nearly as much as I could have put in though, due to all the pre-made brushes that I used. I would like to personally thank all brush-makers for the help that was received on my end in making this piece. I’m currently studying the brushes in order to replicate the effects on my own.
