If you need a head-start on recommending music for me (lolol i'm so selfish C|) I like pretty much every genre, except for hard-core country and death metal and heavy screamo and rap that sucks :T
I LOVE classical music, if you have a favorite classical piece TELL ME, my collection needs to grow.

Here's some great symphonic metal for you (It's beautiful and addictive, I promise you)
Kamelot, Amorphis, Ensiferum, Nightwish. Ensiferum definitely my fav of the group. Then Amorphis, then Kamelot, then Nightwish. All are great, though.
I'm a hardstyle techno person, so I like Tatanka, Donkey Rollers, Zatox, Showtek, TECHNOBOY (<33333), Headhunterz, The Prophet, Sylenth & Glitch. Way too many of my favorite hardstyle songs and other groups to name, but if you're interested, I could give you a bitchin' list you'll never stop listening to. All of my favorite hardstyle songs send chills up my spine with their beauty. It's insane.
Chill music is the SHIT!
Lemon Jelly is one of my favorite chill bands. You can almost never go wrong with them. Their song 'Space Walk' happens to be my universal happy song. Great stuff
Boards of Canada, Massive Attack, Sounds from the Ground, Hawke, Beat Pharmacy, THIEVERY CORPORATION (<333).
Again, I have another bitchin' list that's not quite as big, but you'll still never stop listening to them. I listen to stuff other people don't, so if you want to break away from the mainstream, I gotchu covered.
Fuck the mainstream

There are only two tools in life that you need: Duct tape and WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the duct tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40.
But Vikings= Fuck. Yes.
YES, I should put that in there, but you might have given me enough. I NEED A SHITLOAD OF TECHNO.
All of my absolute favorite songs give me goosebumps. I hope these give me goosebumps lol
Lemon Jelly just sounds soothing haha <3 I'll check em out for when i do my homework.
Mainstream stuff (and not just music) really bothers me these days, but i can see why a lot of it is popular. STILL, i like unknown groups. Makes me feel special for giving them a listen.
Now, if I may recommend something classical, look up Hans Zimmer. If the name sounds familiar, it's because he scored the music for a LOT of films. The Lion King, Angels and Demons, The DaVinci Code, Pirates of The Caribbean, The Last Samurai, Gladiator, Armageddon, the list goes ON. But it's really intense music and I love it =w=
