Picky Flash Drive

I have a very nice, 8GB flash drive that I use to move files from computer to computer, upload art, play music, etc.
But from time to time, without warning, it just stops working. As in, when I plug it into a USB port, the computer isn't notified of it's entry =_=
It's not with certain computers, it just goes on streaks of not-working.
Anything I can do to cease this strike/ prevent it from happening?

If i could at least figure out why it does this, that would be great information to have.

sounds like a memory error, either that or your usb hub is having a problems (if its just happening on one computer). I'd try reformatting your flash drive

D: I hope that's not a bad thing-- like losing everything on there, because that would SUCK.
How do you reformat a flash drive that won't respond to a computer lol
